Album Watch - Day 32 - Royce Da 5'9": The Bar Exam 2 / Street Hop / The Revival

Like you probably guessed from the title, Detroit Rapper Royce Da 5'9" has a bunch of shit cooking in the kitchen. Though he's been in the rap game for many years, only recently have people started giving him the recognition he deserves.

It all started with his sick mixtape, The Bar Exam, which is considered one of the greatest mixtapes of all time. And it looks like he is planning to fall it up with The Bar Exam 2, which is set to be released at the end of August.

Royce has also talked about two albums he plans on releasing: The Revival and Street Hop. He wants to release at least one of them this year, and a while ago there was the mentioning of him possibly going on tour, so who knows. Maybe an album is coming soon. But until then, look out for The Bar Exam 2, which is gonna be unbelievable.

In the mean time, if you missed out on Royce Da 5'9" until now, check out some of his more recent tracks here

Album Watch - Day 31 - Common: Invincible Summer

While you may have been seeing Common in lots of movies lately like Wanted and American Gangster, Common is still doing his rap music. Invincible Summer is looking to be another great rap album from the Chicago city veteran.

Common has already released two singles off his albums.

Announcement

Universal Mind Control

I think they're okay, nothing too special to be honest. Common himself said the album would be very "good mood" and techno inspired. Most of the tracks are to be produced by the Neptunes.

Here's the rumoured tracklisting:

  • "Announcement" - 4:05
  • "Universal Mind Control (UMC)" - 3:30
  • "Runaway"
  • "Make My Day"
  • "Punch Love"
  • "Gladiator"
  • "What A World"
  • "Changes"
  • "Party Shit"
  • "Dreaming"
Guest appearances from Pharell and Santogold are expected on the album. The album is set to release in late September.

New Young Buck Album Ready For This September?

Hmm... I don't know about that David... I'm sure 50 won't let you release the album. But then again your able to release it off of your label. He also speaks about his clothing line and dodges all questions about G-Unit (which is a good thing). Oh also... Buck looks far from poor in this video. Get to the money!

The Game (ft Lil Wayne)- My Life

The Game (ft Lil Wayne)- My Life

This song is actually really good! The Game has turned a hater into a fan! It's safe to say that The Game is the one artist right now that's putting out quality material one after another. L.A.X is gonna be a hot album! Maybe it'll be on par with The Documentary... One thing though...
Doja took shots at Eminem in this song... He loses major points for that. Em better teach this clown what it is!

UPDATE: There's a new version of the song get it HERE
He doesn't diss Em on this one. Yay!

Tony Yayo Speaks On Young Buck... Again...

This is getting old now... If you don't like Young Buck make a diss track or go to Cashville and take it to the streets. I'm getting the impression that Yayo talks the talk but never follows it through with the walk. Truth is, Yayo is a snake just like Curtis... This is rap beef not expose the other's personal life to the world beef. Keep it on the records or take it to the streets.

All I gotta say is Buck better stop the disses cause it's getting old and Yayo's a BN... Bitch Nigga. Yayo can't make a diss because he lacks the skills and 50 and Banks won't help him out.

What happened to the funny Tony Yayo from 2005? Why is this one so sour these days?

Nas Protests Fox News In NYC

Nas never seems to stop surprising me with his intellgence and his determination to help make a change for the best. Fuck Fox, Fuck O'Reilly... It's time for Revolution! In my opinion Nas is doing what I think 2Pac would've done if he was still with us. It's time to bring about a new movement, a new Thug Life. Nas is spitting that truth! We just need a few other artists to follow his lead and help do positive things.

Support real rap and go cop Nas' latest album "Untitled" its in stores now! It's the #1 selling Hip Hop album out in Canada!

No love for the Sly Fox!

This is a surprisingly good video... as i find it entertaining to watch. I personally can't stand DJ Khaled & friends anymore. Yes I'm looking at you Plies, Lil Boosie and even Rick Ross. The fact that Lil' Wayne's entertaining verse was excluded means I couldn't care less about this track.

Album Watch - Day 30 - Young Jeezy: The Recession

Over the years, the Snow Man has built quite the reputation for himself, delivering some catchy hooks and having a good ear for production. The Recession, set to be Jeezy's third solo studio album, is set to be another banger, if his first single Put On is a sign of things to come. The song is huge, plain and simple.

You can expect production from big league producers like The Runners, Drumma Boy, and Shawty Redd and a possible guest spot from T.I.

The album is set to release August 19th. Jeezy is also planning on releasing his second single, Crazy World, soon too. Also look out for a remix to "Put On" later this summer.

Young Buck and Tony Yayo to Fight Each Other in Boxing Match

MediaTakeOut.com just got some EXPLOSIVE NEWS. On Friday night, Young Buck went on XM Radio and officially challenged Tony Yayo to a boxing match. His exact quote was, "I swear on my child life ... if they line it up ... me and [Tony Yayo] can fight on TV." And according to MediaTakeOut.com's source over at G-Unit - TONY YAYO HAS ACCEPTED BUCK'S CHALLENGE. And there's more, the insider told MediaTakeOut.com that Yayo is already in talks with boxing promoters to see how this can be put together.

This is some corny as shit. But if it does happen,I'm betting Buck is gonna get knocked the fuck out lol.

Album Watch - Day 29 - EPMD: We Mean Business

EPMD, one of the few old school groups left in the Rap Game, are planning to release an album this Fall 2008. And they mean business. They have been in the game for 20 years, and they've delivered time and time again.

The group has been pretty quiet for the past 5 years, besides having performed at Rock The Bells 2006. But you expect them to release a sick album. EPMD has always managed to stay with the times, reinventing themselves with each release.

Don't know if you heard the first single they released for the album, "Blow", but here's the audio.

Album Watch - Day 28 - Ludacris: Theater of the Mind

I've been following Ludacris since he released "Southern Hospitality". All I've gotta say is this guy is a great rapper, and brings the hits consistently every time he releases an album. And his upcoming record, Theater of the Mind, should be no different. The album's title hints at a more serious Ludacris, but I'm sure he's have song banging production too.

Luda has announced that he has already collaborated with Good Charlotte (yeah I don't know), Lil Wayne, The Game and Swizz Beatz. He also wants to work with Eminem on the album.

One single has already been released. It's called Stay Together. Listen to it here

Album Watch - Day 27 - Joe Budden: Padded Room

Ah, Joe Budden aka Mr. Pump It Up. The guy is one of the most overlooked rappers in the rap game. Sure, his first LP wasn't very good, save for a couple of singles....but since then, Joey has been dropping that ish on his Mood Muzik mixtapes. He is releasing his third Mood Muzik mixtape this year. And let me tell you, if you've never really listened to Joe Budden, let's just say he is almost as hungry on his tracks as Royce Da 5'9.

And he is now hoping to take another shot at dropping a successful LP with his upcoming album, "Padded Room".

Check out this interview with Budden. He talks about his next album, Def Jam and a bunch of other rumours.

Jay-Z Makes Fun of Oasis by performing a cover of Wonderwall

"
Jay was the festival’s headliner and wasted no time going right after his harshest critic, Noel Gallagher, lead singer of British rock group Oasis.

Jay-Z kicked off his show by walking out with a guitar strapped around his neck and performing a cover of “Wonderwall” by Oasis. Hov smiled throughout the entire stint as the crowd laughed.

Earlier this year, Gallagher expressed intense distaste with Jay’s role in the festival telling the press, “I’m not having hip-hop at Glastonbury. It’s wrong.”
"
